often times, we may think that the person who tells the funniest jokes or has the most entertaining stories as being homourous. and we may forget that there maybe people who appear serious/stoic and yet the things they say can get you so tickled! a very good example of this is my colleauge who i affectionately call pak tan. usually he's very serious, always working on his stuff but occasionally, he'll join in the office chatter and give his two cents. well i'd pay more than just two cents to hear his comments.
so today, he asked me to book his flight to china as we have some ongoing project there. i think he previously had some clashes with the people there over the direction of our projects, and this time round my boss is throwing him to china again to settle the problems. i think he quite sad case cos only the departure date to china is confirmed. his return date is left open. hahahaha. i informed him of this, to which he showed me this email he wrote to my boss, stating that he would like to have a small meeting to review our company's stand on the project. he also wrote to my boss that this is really mission impossible. hahahahaha to which, i replied, 'but pak tan, you are our tom cruise! that's why bossman wanna send you to china.' and his reply to my statement was, 'i don't want to talk to those people. they are useless. i want to come back to singapore vertical, not horizontally.' my colleague and me, our reactions were, 'CHOI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' hahahah! he's cute that way lah. he's about 60 already. and his wife makes kick ass almond jelly! woots. not that i ate lah, cos i don't like almond but the office peeps always rave about the dessert.
on a sidenote: i don't understand why should we have a additional dept to oversee our projects when in the end the duty to follow up falls on another dept that is seriously understaffed? and then when shit hits the fan, the dept that was helping out gets the blame while the original dept that was supposed to oversee things just from the sidelines add oil to the fire?! *roll eyes*
on another sidenote: today has been a much better day than yesterday... at least for now. hmmm... perhaps it's just me having some pms-type mood swing. i still need a break though... and the new jackie chan show is out!! i want to watch!!!
which brings me to this point, i think cna should change their movie critic. i don't think she's very good. the old man hates her. luckily he didn't get to see her review on the jackie chan show which she gave 2 popcorns to. if not he will undoubtably curse and cuss at her. speaking of which, i do notice that she doesn't tend to give asian shows very high ratings. wonder why. but i understand that a critic can be biased; depending on whether s/he likes that particular genre. so, we shouldn't depend on the reviews too much. one man's meat; another man's poison.
